What Age Is Best for Facelift Surgery?
Over time, the development of fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, and various other signs of aging is inevitable. However, these aging indications don’t always manifest at the same point in life for every individual due to genetics, environmental elements, sun exposure, and several other factors that can influence our appearance. Additionally, more and more men and women are receiving non-surgical skin care treatments and injectables earlier in life, often enabling them to age more gracefully and postpone the need (or desire) for a more extensive surgical procedure.
For these reasons, there is not a specific age that is considered “best” for facelift surgery – the procedure could be an excellent option for one 40-year-old, while it may not be right for another 40-year-old. If you are interested in facelift surgery, my advice is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience and proven results with the full spectrum of surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Following a thorough examination, he or she should be able to determine if a facelift would be the most appropriate treatment option, or if a less invasive cosmetic procedure may be better suited to your unique needs and goals.
