VASER^® Shape

VASER^® Shape combines the power of ultrasonic and massage therapy to temporarily smooth and firm the body by reducing the appearance of cellulite. The non-surgical procedure works by increasing blood flow in the treated areas to aid the body’s natural metabolic process. Our skilled team at the Personal Enhancement Center will often use the VASER^® Shape procedure to reduce any pain and swelling following a surgical treatment such as liposuction.

Two Types of Non-Invasive Cellulite Reduction

VASER^® Shape offers visible and non-surgical body contouring results in ultrasonic and massage therapy sessions performed weekly over a series of treatments. Our practice offers two different VASER^® techniques: ultrasound therapy and zonal lymphatic massage. We will help patients decide which approach can best meet their needs and achieve their desired cosmetic outcome.

Ultrasound Therapy with VASER^® Shape

The VASER^® Shape Ultrasound treatment utilizes two types of ultrasound energy to gently warm the fatty tissue and cellulite below the skin’s surface. The process of heating the fat cells breaks down the unwanted tissue and promotes the body’s natural cleansing process as the fat is metabolized and removed. We use a special concave handpiece to perform the VASER^® Shape treatment and target the fatty tissue without harming the surrounding skin. Patients have reported feeling a gentle warming of the skin, accompanied by a feeling similar to a deep tissue massage.

Zonal Lymphatic Massage with VASER^® Shape

Due to the gentle and non-invasive nature of VASER^® Shape, our team uses the zonal lymphatic massage technique after liposuction to encourage faster healing. We also often recommend the zonal lymphatic massage immediately following ultrasound treatments to further enhance cosmetic results. This vacuum-assisted massage helps the body open the lymph nodes, get rid of excess toxins and undesired fat, and increase the circulation of blood at the treatment area.

VASER^® Shape Process

We typically recommend a number of treatments based on your body type following a conversation about the cosmetic outcome you’re hoping to achieve. Our team often suggests a combination of VASER^® Shape Ultrasonic and zonal lymphatic massage based around the following schedule; however, each patient is unique and may require more or less treatment sessions for the desired results:

• One ultrasound and massage treatment per week (20–30 minutes per treatment area)
• One separate zonal lymphatic massage session each week
• 3 to 5 weeks of repeated treatments to prolong results

Many patients notice significant improvement after the first session of combined treatment, which is the most important element of treatment for patients looking to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Following the procedure, most patients are able to resume normal activity without pain or downtime.

Ultrasound Diathermy with VASER^® Shape

Ultrasound diathermy employs high-frequency sound waves to heat the fatty tissue beneath the skin. VASER^® Shape allows us to apply this technology with a specially-designed handpiece that treats the undesired fat with two forms of ultrasound energy. We will target the tissue that is one to five centimeters below the skin’s surface by moving the handpiece back and forth over the treatment areas.

Heat produced by ultrasound diathermy creates a “micro-massage” effect on the fat cells. By warming the connective tissue, redistributing fat and encouraging blood circulation, VASER^® Shape temporarily reduces the appearance of cellulite to slim and smooth your body shape.
