How Many Areas Can Be Treated in One Liposuction Session?
This is a question I hear rather frequently from patients who are considering liposuction for the removal of localized fat pockets in the buttocks, thighs, back, abdomen, and numerous other regions of the body. For the vast majority of men and women, the answer is this: There is no set limit to the number of areas that can be treated during one liposuction session, as long as the quantity of fat tissue extracted doesn’t surpass a particular amount specified by your personal anatomical indicators. What does this mean? It means that a relatively smaller person might be able to target all desired regions in a single liposuction session whereas a comparatively larger individual may require more than one treatment to safely eradicate fat. Of course, this all depends on the overall size and number of areas being addressed, as well.
Ultimately, liposuction is a very individualized treatment, so the specific number of sessions necessary to address all desired areas will be determined on a case by case basis. If you are interested in this fat reduction treatment, my advice is to consult with a skilled and experienced board certified plastic surgeon. After a comprehensive examination, he or she should be able to formulate the safest, most effective procedural plan for your unique needs and aesthetic goals.
