Benefits of Fat Reduction with Hydrasolve™
Before pursuing his career as a physician, Dr. Christopher Godek earned a bioengineering degree and trained in the development of medical technology. Now, as a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 14 years of experience, he still employs his extensive engineering background to develop new surgical instruments and techniques designed to improve patient care at the Personal Enhancement Center and beyond.
One device for which Dr. Godek is a co-inventor and patent holder is the HydraSolve™ Lipoplasty System. Approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), HydraSolve™ is a saline water-based technology designed to liquify and extract fat from the body in a gentler manner than traditional liposuction and other surgical fat removal techniques. During treatment, a heated water stream – which is similar to the temperature of a normal shower – is pulsed from the side of a smooth cannula (suctioning tube) with enough pressure to dissolve fat while not damaging surrounding tissues.
Some of the many benefits fat reduction with HydraSolve™ may be able to provide patients include:
- Smaller incision for tissue extraction
- Better accuracy and a more selective removal of fat.
- Less injury to other structures, such as blood vessels, tissues, and nerves.
- Quicker recovery with less bruising, swelling, and discomfort.
- It’s ability to be combined with other procedures, such as tummy tuck surgery, and used essentially anywhere on the body fat needs to be removed.
Additionally, the HydraSolve™ Lipoplasty System is the first device to have received FDA approval for fat harvesting prior to fat grafting procedures. By simply lowering the temperature and pressure of the water during treatment, fat can be kept alive throughout the removal process and then reinjected into other areas of the body for enhancement purposes.
